It’s early morning on Leap Day and it got me wondering . . . “If I register domains today does that mean I don’t have a renewal date for next year ? Do I get 4 years for the price of 1.”

The Australian Domain Name Administrator (auDA) has announced a series of reforms that will regulate domainers from registering any .au Second Level Domain for the sole purpose of reselling it. The auDA board has set up guidelines to regulate domain sales in order to create transparency in the industry.

After Skenzo first notified some of their customers earlier this week that they would be moving some of their domains to a second tier feed, Skenzo has now announced that they are switching to a Yahoo! feed. Read the full email after the break.

Communicate.com Inc., a growing e-commerce and media company, has teamed up with Wanderspot to launch Brazil.com, the first of many online travel destinations planned to be released this year.

The auction is over and by our count produced 85 sales from roughly 170 domains and a total sales volume of $371,000.

Forgive me for missing out on the obvious additional misuse of another racist domain name, Niggers.com which is owned by the “Anti Hate Association” and currently is displaying a parking page by Sedo. Is the Anti Hate Association aware of how their domain is being used?

According to a press release from the law firm Kabateck Brown Kellner, a federal class action lawsuit has been filed in U.S. District Court, Central District of California against domain name registrar Network Solutions and ICANN. According to their press release, Go Daddy is the first registrar to follow participate in the new ICANN Data Escrow Program. The company is partnering with Iron Mountain, the ICANN designated Registrar Data Escrow Agent.
