Domain Roundtable Extended Auction Brings in $81,774

by Adam Strong in Categories: Miscellaneous

Tags: , , ,

The Domain Roundtable extended auction ended Tuesday night with little fanfare.   An additional 54 domain names sold with a total take of $81,774.   From our observations of the auction proceedings, all but one of the domain names that sold went for the proxy bid prices that were entered before the finale of the auction began.  Since it appeared that no one was bidding up the proxies, many of the NR or lower reserve names were won by the first proxy bids.   In fact 42 of the 54 domains sold went for under $1000.  Bidders that placed their proxy bids in early on this auction definitely had an advantage.    The top sale of the night was at $24,800

The live portion of the Domain Roundtable auctioned banked $499,200. By our count, the combined total of the live and extended auction comes in at $580,974.  An additional $1550 was raised for the Internet Commerce Association (ICA) at the extended event as well, bringing the total amount raised from auctioning these donated domains to $16,350.

TRAFFIC Conference Teams Up With Rick Latona – 6 Shows Planned For 2010

Rick Schwartz and Howard Neu of TRAFFIC Conference have announced a new partnership with to take the conference around the world – including an expanded 2010 schedule that will visit Las Vegas, Amsterdam, Toronto, Reykjavik (Iceland), South Florida, and Hong Kong.

“We want to break down the walls of the domain industry and bring in folks from allied industries and we have a formula and a team that can now make that happen,” Rick Schwartz said on “By the end of next year it will be evident how big this change is and everyone reading this will benefit by the reach out program we are about to engage in. Nothing happens overnight, however we have set a new and exciting course and you will become the beneficiary of those changes.”

The aggressive plan will bring TRAFFIC to North America, Europe, and Asia in 2010 and there are other plans in the works to include South America in the near future.

“Together, as a team, we will be presenting six fantastic shows next year,” explained Rick Latona on his blog. “Due to my investment of capital in new auction software (currently under development), sales people who will be working the end-user market and other auction related activities that will bring substantial additional income to domainers over time, I became convinced that the auction company and trade show company need to be closely aligned and essentially partners.

It is our intention to grow upon the brand which started the industry events we know and love today. For that reason, we are doubling the size of the company for maximum exposure on a global scale.”

Targeted TRAFFIC ccTLDs extended auction results

by Frank Michlick in Categories: Domain Auction

Tags: , , , ,

The extended Targeted TRAFFIC ccTLD auction by ended yesterday and yielded another 75,501 Euros (appx. 105,000 USD) from the sales of 28 domains. The pair of and yielded the highest price with a total 35,000 Euros (appx. 48,600 USD). All in all for Rick’s first pure ccTLD live and extended auction this actually didn’t go too badly. It is however important to note that just like many of the attendees I noticed that some of the domains in the auction should have been verified with the help of a native speaker, as for example some of the German domains may make sense when you translate them, but yet will not make sense in German since the terms are just not used the same way, for example “” (directly translates into Free Credit Report, but credit reports work differently in Germany than they do in the US).
