This applies to all of the major auctions in general.

It bothers me when people complain that the reserve price is too high.
The owner has the right to set his minimum selling price.
It is his/her domain.

If it is a premium domain, why should they give it away?
Plus, many of the people that I see complaining about the high reserve prices are not usually a buyer of premium domains anyway.

Maybe, the owner knows more about the potential value of the domain than the casual window-shopping domainer?

Could the people complaining before the auction about the high reserve price have ulterior motives? Maybe, they will be a bidder and want to scare other bidders away?

Maybe, the reserve price is so far outside of the complaining person’s economic abilities that they just want to spoil it for the seller?

Overall, I think there were some great purchases at the recent Traffic conference.

In a couple years, will we look back at these domain sales and think
“wow, what a deal”.

Thanks Frank, for putting up the overall tally table. Looks like everyone did some selling, decent prices too. And did I see it right? “SLEEPWALKING.COM” for only $7500? wow — i see a flip coming! ;-)

I’m looking forward to hearing Rick’s take on the multi auction platform, and on each of the auction producer’s analysis of their participation. Everyone should be listening closely…

Is it just me or were a lot of good names here just too high in reserve price? I think if the reserve a fair bit lower, many may have sold — and I suspect being an auction, a few may have bid up to their desired reserve price or more.
