NameMedia buys, launches

NameMedia  (parent company of announced that they have purchased, which is to work in tandem with their website. This continuous their development efforts and certainly shows that they are willing to buy existing sites and combine them with their premium domain names.

[ is] a community site for photography enthusiasts with more than 600,000 registered users., an online community for photographers to connect and discuss photography, explore galleries, share photographs, and learn more about the art of photography, was founded in 1993 as Philip Greenspun’s personal home page at MIT. The site has since grown to become one of the most active photography sites on the Web, receiving more than five million visitors each month. Every day, users post thousands of images, forum responses, photo critiques, classified ads, photo ratings, and comments to the site. The gallery boasts more than 2.5 million high quality user-uploaded images.

Earlier, NameMedia had announced their launch of

Seasonal destinations, such as farmers markets and produce stands, corn mazes, pumpkin patches and Christmas tree farms are also included.

Part of the NameMedia network of gardening sites, joins the company’s site which recently was awarded “Best of the Web� by Forbes magazine and boasts over 3000 new posts a day and over one million visitors monthly.
