Christian.com Sells for $600,000

by Chad Kettner in Categories: Domain Sales

Sedo and RickLatona.com – leaders in aftermarket domain name sales – have joined together to sell Christian.com for $600,000.

“After realizing that the domain my client was interested in, Christian.com, was scheduled to be part of Rick Latona’s upcoming auction,” said Tessa Holcomb of Sedo.com, “I worked closely with David Clements at Rick Latona Auctions to reach a mutually beneficial agreement for the buyer and seller. Collaborating efforts with David on this acquisition was a pleasure.”

It was the first time the two industry leaders have partnered on a sale.

“We understand the value of building and maintaining relationships, not just within our own industry, but across the spectrum,” said David Clements. “We are always open to discussions with buyer’s agents and seller’s agents alike.”

Tessa and Dave… two people who can work together because they are excellent representatives of their companies.

(Dear Tessa and Dave, since I kissed major b*tt here, I respectfully request that both of you domain experts keep on looking at my domains and telling me the ones you like for auctions on your platforms!)

Nice story, Chad. By the way, is the seller of the domain “CHRISTIAN.COM” going to give half of his earnings to a charity, since it is a religious domain? Seems like the right thing to do…

So Chad, I’ve been thinking of a good natured “End of Summer Tradition For Domainers). You can be a part of this! Here’s how:

You or someone needs to punch A-Bomb on the shoulder, and say “That viking dude said if I punched you on the arm, he’d give me a domain!”

But I want a photo of the punch. I will give a domain that is worth at least $250 to whoever provides a photo of A-Bomb getting punched on the arm, and a domain to the puncher and a domain to the punchee (yes, I’ll give a domain to Atom, as if he needs one) .

Here’s a few domains to select from for all parties who will work towards this goal:

    AucklandWireless.com
    WiFiHeadlines.com
    LyricLocater.com
    OATMEAL-COOKIE.COM
    IronHangers.com
    ElectricalStrips.com
    LasVegasHouse.net

Now I’m not promoting violence here… so let Atom know that the punch is coming, and that there are benefits from his arm being sore. Hopefully, nobody will be fired. But I want to spark up the end of summer, and what better pic on my Facebook than one of The Atom Bomb being caught with a sock on the arm!? Anyone can make the punch, but photo and puncher need to be identified in the photo. The more creative the photo, the better.

I am starting a tradition for the end of summer called The “Punch-Atom-Bomb-On-The-Arm-Goodbye-To-Summer-Celebration Photo”. So, for the rest of Atom’s life, I will offer domains to participants that show the famous Atom being punched on the arm… Just think of the next 50 years of photos of Atom wincing! Atom is excited too, right ol buddy?

Why punch Atom? Well, can anyone suggest someone more suitable for an irritating punch on the arm?

    • If you punched Frank M, you’d just hear a cussword in German and get a quizzical “was ist los?” look.

    • Punch Dub-A, and you get a news article about the physiology of blunt force trauma to flesh on the upper arm.

    • Can’t do it to Elliot, because he’d actually write about the various techniques and the best “geo locations” for the punch.

    • Ron Jackson would just rate the punch on some boxing rating scale, headlining his story: “THE PUNCH! Pound for pound, Atom’s Arm Can Take The Pounding! Read The Play by Play and Tale of The Tape Here!”

    • Mikey Berkens would discuss the morality of punching anyone, “Is the Atom Arm Punch good for the industry? What about Atom’s arm? Can it take the hits year after year after year? How Much Can Atom Take?”

    • Rick The King would respond: “The Punch That Sold A Six Figure Domain”… and sell some domain like “Punchbowl.com” or something, just to make us all go… “dang!” – I wish I got punched in the face for that domain sale!

I will give one of the above domains to the puncher, the photographer and Atom. That’s three domains. The conditions for the punch vs domain trade deal is that I own all rights to the photo and the images in the photo.

Sound’s interesting, yes? Get started! If anyone else wants to be included in the Domainers’ End of Summer Punchfest, suggestions and photos are appreciated, and I’ll consider posting them too. All submissions are my property. But no free domains, at least yet for anyone other than the Atom punch crew. Maybe next year?

    ;-)

    Stephen – Adam’s lucky I’m 2000 miles away. :)

  • Palestinian

WOW! Unbelievable – good for them!
In any event – PALESTINIAN.ME is for sale – 500$

Google just opened google for the Palestinian’s.“Today we’re adding an additional domain to our list, google.ps. The new domain will give Arabic-speaking users in the Palestinian Territories, who use Palestinian ISPs, access to Google in Arabic–and eventually, access to more locally-relevant content..”.

The whole world focuses on the Middle East and on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
This is a Generic Domain name relevant to the Palestinian people from a religious-cultural, political & business perspective, not to mention national pride to its future owner.

In addition the .me is apparently being used by Apple’s “Mobile Me”, Microsoft’s “It all about me”, “23andMe” developed by Anne Wojcicki, the wife of Sergey Brin etc. and is used for specific blogs & marketing sites so if you are interested please get back to..me!

Would you mind keeping your comments somewhat related to the original post – my finger is twitching right over the “mark as spam” button.

Chad, we can wait until we see each other at TRAFFIC Vegas or Domainfest 2010! Build crowd interest! “See Atom get punched on the arm!” and then sell side tickets… lol

  • Chad Kettner

Haha, absolutely. (although I think you’d see a lot less of me around here following that incident) ;)
