Francois Carrillo Scores Another Nice Domain Flip
Francois Carrillo of PremiumDomains.com and Domaining.com scored another nice flip today selling the one-word domain Optimize.com for $115,000. According to the domain sales history data from NameBio.com Carrillo purchased the domain for $24,650 in February of 2008.
Carrillo recently sold another domain for a quicker flip. He bought Pepe.com for $15,000 on Bido and sold it within a couple of months for 60,000 45,000 Euros, netting a healthy $40,000+ profit on the sale.
Update: The new owner of Optimize.com will not be an SEO company as one might expect. Carrillo told DNN that the new owner said “I like optimize because it gives people the idea that my company will minimize their banking/credit card fees which is exactly what I want to do – minimize the fee structure in the banking industry which has seen way too much by way of fees and nonsense.”

yeah, is nice, but wouldn’t have thought is was that big a flip to warrant a special article.. most really big flips don’t get recorded (obv. doesn’t help with you trying to write articles lol) as its just really not that good for biz.. i.e. I have personally set up deals where we have flipped numerous times, but its bad for biz if the people buying keep finding out what you bought for.. this doesn’t matter with end users, but if the players are semi regular, just seems like its all about the boast.. so.. big deal? anyway, my rant is finished now!.. well done to the buyer in getting some quick $ through the till.

Hi Krispy, Francois had back to back flip-ups he was willing to talk about, while most don’t talk about them. Yes it will make business for him more difficult, but he chose to publicize it. I thought a VERY short mention was warranted because he’s a colleague, had back to back flips, and it’s a nice name. Sorry if that’s not a good enough reason . . . slow news day :) btw, I’d be very pleased to add you to the editorial mix . . . in all seriousness. I know the league you play in is the big leagues, but those stories aren’t told are they? Maybe some day ?
Everyone knows that the guy selling is likely making a profit and quite possibly a giant one, so there’s no point in pretending. :)
