Patrick Rudell Purchases ScienceFiction.com For $175,000 USD

Domain Industry blogger and broker at Domain Name firm Moniker, Patrick Rudell, also known as Chef Patrick, has launched a new website at ScienceFiction.com. He purchased the domain name after previous lease owner defaulted for $175,000 USD. The whois still currently shows Domain Capital. Rudell partnered with two sci-fi geek friends, one of which has a journalism degree and has been writing for 20+ years.

Seems a high price to me, interesting about the prior owner defaulting, I wonder what kind of default levels domain capital is seeing.

The previous owner defaulted and DC financed it again rather than just liquidating so that would seem to say they’re doing ok with their model

How man this is possible to sell and buy at this exorbitant price?
how the buyer will be able to get back that money. I am sure he is so sure to get back that money in no time otherwise he would not have bought at that price.
