Will overstock.com own o.com?
After much lobbying by overstock.com (amongst others) ICANN has now started a comment period in order to find the best way to make the remaining single letter/digit domains available in gTLDs.
To be considered by ICANN, ideas on potential allocation methods should be submitted no later than 23:59 UTC, 15 November 2007 to allocationmethods@icann.org. Comments may be viewed on the ICANN site.

I tried petitioning ICANN back in 1994 to release the rest of these (they’d already handed out x.com and x.org).
I even trademarked “b.com” and used it as my trading name, in case they did release them - then I would have a solid claim to it.
