BCCI Deals With India Premier League Trademark Issues
The Madras High Court has followed up on a petition by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and ordered notice to Sandeep Goel and Rediff.com to stop displaying or using IndianFantasyLeague.com, the BCCI logo, or anything else that could be considered confusingly similar to BCCI’s trademarked name – Indian Premier League.
The BCCI had felt Mr. Goel had mischievously created the website and knowingly used the IFL trademark and logo. They were seeking nearly $25,000 in damages.
