Communicate.com Regains Domain Portfolio

by Adam Strong in Categories: News

Communicate.com logoCommunicate.com, a public Canadian company with high-end domains in their portfolio such as Perfume.com and Boxing.com, recently announced they have regained total control of a portfolio of key travel/destination domains such as Brazil.com, Indonesia.com, Malaysia.com, Canadian.com, and GreatBritain.com from FrequentTraveller.com Inc. (FT). FT is a private company incorporated in Nevada. The company also announced it has terminated its 2005 domain name lease agreement with FT and has returned its 50.4% ownership interest in FT.

Communicate.com’s relationship with FT dates back to 2003 when Communicate.com originally purchased 71% of FT and began an agreement for FT to develop out these country and travel portals. Earlier SEC filings show that FT was owned by Domain Name Holdings, Inc. (DHI), a Canadian corporation, who incidentally was also acquired by Communicate.com beginning in November of 2000. Of importance here is the fact that DHI was the original owner of the portfolio of domains (including those mentioned above).

From a Company Release :

Communicate.com Inc. (OTC BB:CMNN.OBNews), a rapidly evolving Internet commerce and media company, today announced that it has acquired all of the tangible and intangible assets associated or used in connection with the operations of FrequentTraveller.com Inc. (“FT”), including the full use of the domain names FrequentTraveller.com, FrequentTraveler.com, Brazil.com, Indonesia.com, Malaysia.com, Canadian.com and GreatBritain.com. Communicate.com has also terminated its 2005 domain name lease agreement with FT that granted FT the travel sales and marketing rights for Communicate’s online country and destination URLs
