Competition in Live Domain Auctions Continues to Heat Up

by Adam Strong in Categories: Domain Auction, News

The live domain name auction space has predominately been dominated by the large dollars drawn from the Moniker live auctions held at TRAFFIC conferences.  In the past year though, the space has heated up with competition from companies like DomainTools, Sedo and Oversee.  Another relative new-comer has also popped up in the space,

The company made waves earlier this year by holding a competing auction during the Florida TRAFFIC show.  In an email, Dan Jelladian, President, announced to Domain Name News that they will be holding another $1 reserve live domain name auction at the Venetian in Macau on November 29th. This auction obviously is scheduled at the same time as another auction, the Moniker Casino Affiliate Convention Domain Auction.

Jelladian writes :

Hello there. We are doing a live $1 No Reserve Domain Name Auction from the Venetian in Macau on November 29, 2007. We will auction off some excellent domains and we sell them for market price- whatever the market will bear. This is why we were barred from the last Traffic Show. Now it all makes sense. We will do our auction on ebay live in real time, so bidders all over the world can participate. We believe the market needs a place where people can auction off a name, and sell it to the market at absolute auction. I hope you will watch and see the quality of our auction. We have the best auctioneer in America, and we sell no matter what the price. We will be auctioning off the finest .com gambling domain name in the world. It has been estimated at $5,000,000 & up, We will sell for $1 No Reserve! If you have any questions please feel free to call me. Our new site will be live tommorrow afternoon at and 214 auctions will be on ebay live, accepting absentee bids at $1 No Reserve.

Some of the inventory can be seen through the following link.

Competition is tough when millions of dollars are at stake.

Who is going to auction of a domain at a venue like this?, unknown, no history and the promise of sell names “no matter what the price”. I hope they have some of their own names to sell.

Most of your sales on eBay were not domain names though, is this correct?

2w: We will cover any type of news on this site, not just auction news. Domain Name News – the name says it all. But thank you for your suggestion.

Dan, Thanks for the info and I hope you will email me at with your results. Also, try to ease up on the “advertising” a little. We charge for that. :) I’ve trimmed your post up a little.

None of your supposedly 21,000,000 sales on ebay were domain names.

Most of your inventory for the macau auction is junk. Who is going to risk any good names to a dollar reserve?

Get a grip, stick with diamonds.

I also noticed you barely broke 85 grand in Florida – no where near what the pros do.

Maybe you need the write off?

Dear MC,

Thank You for taking so much time out of your busy schedule to discuss $1 No Reserve Domain Auction.

You are incorrect sir, some of our $21,000,000
of ebay $1 No Reserve Sales included domain names. Including that sold for under $400.

If you have inventory better than,,, please contact, we are immediate buyers of premium domain names.

We have been in the $1 No Reserve auction business since 1999, and will continue to Buy, Sell, and Auction premium domains at market prices.

Diamonds are a girls best friend, Domain Names are Everyones Best Friend.

Dear “MC”, In a world of domain names, why not use your own.”
