Microsoft Aquires Office.com
Microsoft has purchased the domain name Office.com for an undisclosed amount of money – perhaps preparing for the rumored Microsoft Office 2010 web applications.
“At this point it’s too early to share details on our plans around www.office.com,” a Microsoft represented noted. However, Microsoft has already announced that Office 2010 will include the addition of browser-based versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
The previous domain owner, ContactOffice, has posted a message on the Office.com site telling users that they are transitioning to a new domain.
