Adam,

Do you mean that Name Admin had a hot site in place for the failover and they just lit it up once they went down? Or did they set up hosting with another provider once they were down?

I wonder how many of the folks with large portfolios have a hot site in place. Perhaps that is a follow-up article for you to do?

Plan B for NameAdmin was to switch providers. Schilling commented to us that they were already prepared for such an event. He believed they were down for an hour or so. In the scheme of things, that’s really not a lot of time, but I’m sure at his scale (and for the average domainer looking in) it’s a ton of cash lost.

Good update. Did you find out what was the ‘Plan B’ for Name Administration if they were still down for 2 hours?
