@Nunya: A “parking company” is a company that parks undeveloped domains. An “undeveloped domain” is a domain name that does not have a fully active website, so in this case it’s a domain that displays pay per click advertising. Hope I didn’t use more “IT” terms – if this is a new topic to you, thanks for dropping by and see if you can look up (for example by searching them on google) terms that you may not yet know on the internet.

@Martin: If your website is using “Adsense” and not “Adsense for Domains”, you would be able to continue the service. Adsense for domains is really just for domains that are not websites.

@John: Best way not to come across as a spammer is to actively engage in conversations and not just to promote your company ;-) Also if you want to advertise, I’m sure you know how to contact us. Welcome as a commenter, either way.

I don’t understand this as my domains are well developed with 100s of pages. They have been a bit quiet for a few months but not inactive. I promote them regularly via Twitter and they have Facebook pages and on Google Plus.

I only have one domain .co.uk that is redirected to the active .com version.

I will be entirely transparent. I work for the company I am about to plug. If you are left without any options, I encourage you to test drive . I don’t want to come across as a spammer, because regardless of which parking company you choose, this impacts your bottom line. Good luck to whichever option you choose.

Got this notice in the email too, I feel sorry for those who used this direct-from-advertiser approach to monetize their domain portfolio, after all it did cut out the middle-man (parking companies) profiteering from domain investors ad revenue.

On the other hand it’s obviously welcoming news to domain parking companies who will now enjoy a torrent of domain investors migrating from Google’s adsense for domains all flocking over to their roost.

I’d forgotten I was even using this on one of my undeveloped (and unpromoted) domains – it was a nice surprise when Google ‘compensated’ me for my loss with a £75 adwords voucher which arrived this morning in the post.
