Since you mentioned godaddy, I’ll also share my recent results for Godaddy promo codes. I am a Medical Writing Site Developer, and these coupons come in very handy when purchasing or renewing a domain name. Use Godaddy promo code ZINE3 for $7.49 .com domains and renewals. I save about $40 every time I pick up a bunch of domains. When I buy at least five domains, I also get free private registration when I use ZINE3. For other Godaddy coupons, use ZINE1 for 10% off, ZINE2 for $5 off any $30+ purchase, and ZINE25 for $25 off any purchase of $100 or more, like hosting plans. It looks more like a way to protect theirselves from TM violations during the delete period. If you look at the underlying code it’s a framed page that resolves to http://www.travelterry.com

@Chris: I doubt that they delete the name in the grace period and re-register it, as domain-kiting like that has never been a large scale reality in any ways. You would be able to see that too, because every time this is done the creation date of the domain would change. Plus it isn’t really viable to do that, as registrars still pay for those domains, they just receive a refund when they delete them again.

They are doing a 2yr old’s job at “Hidding” if that’s what it is. But it sounds like this is commonplace these days and not against the law. I only want some assurances that they are “paying” for each domain, and not just “tasting” over and over or some such scheme. If Godaddy doesn’t make some kind of statement about this my opinion of them will sink even lower than it is. They will still have a big job ahead of them to rank down there with NSI… :-)

They have a madiera corporation they put these in to try to protect against their blatant TM infringements. check the nameservers BNMQ.com if you want to see part of their portfolio
