According to an email sent out by TrafficZ, it will cease it operations after Dec 31st, 2014, which is a relatively short notice. We’ve reached out for confirmation to Thought Convergence and also asked them if there’s any other properties/divisions that are still active besides DomainTools.

As you no doubt have heard by now, we recently announced the sales of our Aftermarket domain marketplace and our Agreed online escrow platform. In parallel with those sales, we will be discontinuing the TrafficZ domain parking and monetization service as of December 31, 2014.

In order to facilitate a smooth and seamless transition for you, our valued clients, we recommend that you explore alternative monetization providers and options for your domain assets. Many of our friends in the industry provide excellent domain management and monetization solutions, so we’re confident that you’ll find a suitable partner in no time.

Regardless of what you decide, though, please make sure to update your nameservers by 12:00 AM PST on next Wednesday, December 31, 2014, after which time we will no longer be serving ads from our upstream providers.

On behalf of the entire TrafficZ team, we’d like to thank you for your loyalty and support over the years (since 2002!!). And, as always, we wish you luck and continued success in all of your future endeavors.

Cheers, and Happy Holidays,
Ammar Kubba & Kevin Vo

Passing On Some Inspiring Stories of Good In The Domain Business

While I know that the desire of those who give of their “time, talent and treasure” is not to seek recognition, I’ve decided to point out several stories from people that I’ve met in the domain business that are giving back in ways that I find inspiring. Over the last few months, some of their stories have inspired me to think differently and look at the world in a different light. Some of them are donating money to charity, some of them are putting in time and serving and some are donating their talent to do good. I thought I’d share these short glimpses of what others are up to as a way to pass along the inspiration I felt from their efforts, in hopes of inspiring more stories.

I’m sure I’ll forget a few, but several stories that come to mind from the past include Donna Mahony and Bido’s benefit auction for the burro rescue, Michael Mann’s efforts with,  Eytan Elbaz’s whose PSA “Dear Parents” donated $25,000 to the Museum of Tolerance, Domainer Mardi Gras auction benefiting New Orleans Habitat for Humanity and’s head shaving fun (several times) to benefit cancer research. Domain registrar behemoth even touted charitable donation of a bunch of money toward several charities last year.

Recently, Ron Jackson pointed out a story of a group of domain investors and domain business leaders who are travelling to Kenya to learn of the efforts of the Water School.  The Water School a charity that is aiding in efforts to bring clean water to Africa.

Continued after the jump. (more…)

Domainers Casting Spells and Doing Good in New Orleans

DomainTools announced today on their blog that the auction will feature several New Orleans themed gift packages that will be auctioned along with the domain names today. Proceeds from the auction of these three items will be donated to New Orleans Habitat for Humanity.

The auction packages include a variety of merchandise and food items that are New Orleans’ best. If you missed the event and are sitting at home this is a great way for you to participate and do some good.  New Orleans has some of the best food in the US, maybe even in the world and Aftermarket put together a good mix of these items.

Domainers may also find some good fun in the voodoo doll packages. The Rick Schwartz Bobblehead doll has nothing on the Jay Westerdal voodoo doll. Check out our exclusive images and list of the package contents after the jump

Sign up at the site and bid these great prize packages up.  This town STILL needs all the help we can give them.
