Frank Schilling’s Uniregistry is set to expand and plans open new offices in Newport Beach, California in January 2014. The building, which was purchased by the company is located at 2161 San Joaquin Hills Road and will house the company’s registry support, engineering and sales staff.

Schilling described the location as follows in an email to Domain Name News:

I bought the building and we are remodeling as we speak. We plan to move in this January. We have 68 parking spots so lots of room to grow. The building is  400 yards from Whole foods and Fashion Island, the best (highest end) outdoor mall in America. We are 1 mile to the Pacific Ocean and 2.1 mile bike ride to Balboa Island and the charming car ferry. You could be surfing in 10 minutes, we’ll have 2 showers and surfboard storage for staff.

DOMAINfest Global 2012 Dates Announced by DomainSponsor

DomainSponsor, the domain name monetization unit of and organizer of the DOMAINfest series of conferences, has announced it will return to the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica for their annual DOMAINfest Global event from January 31 to February 2, 2012.

As in past years, the entire Fairmont Miramar Hotel has been reserved exclusively for DOMAINfest Global in order to provide attendees with an intimate, distraction-free environment that maximizes networking opportunities.

Highlights from the February 2011 conference included a standing-room-only keynote address from legendary Go Daddy CEO Bob Parsons, plus an entertaining fireside chat with Ben Mezrich, author of The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook. More than 700 domain name investors, online marketing professionals, and service providers from 30 countries attended the conference. A party at they event also made it into the main stream media through a mysterious illness that about 1/4 of the attendees.

Registration for the event will opens September 1st with an early bird registration fee of $995, which includes all sessions, meals and official evening parties, will apply from September 1 through September 30.  From October 1 through December 31 the standard discounted rate will be $1,195 per attendee.  Beginning on January 1, the regular pre-conference rate of $1,295 will apply. Discounted hotel room rates at the Fairmont Miramar hotel are available.

The company is also holding a New York Meet-Up event on August 23 from 7:00-10:00 p.m.  at the Mad46 Rooftop Lounge, on the 19th floor of the Roosevelt Hotel at Madison Avenue and 46th Street. Attendees will enjoy speed networking, dinner and cocktails. Registration is $150 and is available online. Last year the NYC meeting was a “power networking day”, but for this year it has been transformed into an evening meeting, the price was lowered by $25.

DOMAINfest to Return to Santa Monica in 2011

The 2011 DOMAINfest conference, held by will return to this year’s venue, the Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica, again taking up the entire hotel. The event will take place from February 1-3.

According to Sedo and Mike Mann (as reported by Elliot Silver) the auction for that is scheduled for tomorrow, may not take place after all. Both sources say that an Involuntary Chapter 11 was filed against Escom, LLC the company that owns the domain. The auction page now states that the auction has been postponed.

Involuntary Chapter 11 Petition Filed Against Escom, LLC – Owner of the Domain Name

Woodland Hills, California – Creditors of Escom, LLC (“Escom”) today filed an involuntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition against Escom in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California (San Fernando Valley Division).

Petitioners took this action to protect their interests and to maximize value for all other creditors and equity holders. The filing will stay the public auction foreclosure proceedings previously scheduled for March 18, 2010, which petitioners believe would have diminished the value of Escom’s assets.
