After a couple weeks of domain name auctions, Bido - the company that auctions 1 name per day - has decided to no longer offer a guaranteed sales price to sellers.
“Looking at domain submissions we learned that if you state that you are willing to give a guarantee if certain guidelines followed, domain owners will submit anything and everything for your consideration,” said Bido cofounder Sahar Sarid on his blog, “mostly outside the boundaries stated.”
From now on, all Bido domain auctions will start at $1 and have no reserve price.

As announced earlier, Bido, the low-reserve one domain a day auction, is set for launch tomorrow, June 18th. Sahar Sarid, Dan Kimball and Sean Stafford were so kind to walk us through the site.
The main features of the new site are:
- 1 domain auction per day
- 7 days a week
- Starting at 1pm ET
- 8% comission
- All auctions start at $1
- Bido guarantees the seller’s minimum price

According to a press release SnapNames has renewed their partnership with register.com for listing non-renewed names for auction. After being purchased by Oversee.NET SnapNames had previously lost the exclusive inventory from Network Solutions to the newly launched NameJet.
Tucows recently announced that they are dropping their own aftermarket auction as of June 10th, but have not yet announced where their inventory will be available going forward.

The second MyID .CA domain auction starts today at 1pm EDT and will run until June 12th. The auction features 101 .CA domains. In the first auction 24 (out of a total of 77) names were sold for a total of $158,000.00 CAD. Also Pool.com will start the premium auction for betting.ca today.

The 2008 TRAFFIC East event is over but the auction isn’t. All the names that didn’t sell during the live event have been moved to the silent auction in addition to a bunch of other names that didn’t make the cut for the live event. 2500 domains in total are on the silent auction site. The auction ends tomorrow. Each name ends at a different time, so download the list and make your plans accordingly.

As Domain Name Wire reports, GoDaddy’s TDNAM marketplace has now introduced Buy It Now pricing on auctions above $20 starting price. The buy it now price is five times the opening bid.
