Bido.com shuts down for an undetermined period
Bido.com has shut down for an undetermined time due to technical problems after the site went down twice during the auction for “FixedLoans.com”.
Sahar Sarid wrote on his blog:
We gave it another shot today but still had major tech issues. We believe the right thing to do now is to spend time figuring out the issues and come back when we are ready. It may be few days, weeks, months, none of us really knows.
[Update] Bido also sent an email outlining the timeline of what the events:
- Tuesday August 19, 2008 1pm Fixedloans.com auction starts…
- Tuesday August 19, 2008 Shortly after 2pm Bido web servers crash…
- Wednesday August 20, 2008 10am, Bido is live and ready (so we think) for Fixedloans.com relisting…
- Wednesday August 20, 2008 1pm Fixedloans.com auction starts…
- Wednesday August 20, 2008 1:52pm Traffic from auction slows services and makes site unavailable for most users; Bido team stops auction and pulls website offline.
