I have mixed feelings about them at this point. Limiting the auctions to one name a day has created a frenzy among domainers to get their names listed and I think at this point it’s a lot like being in a lottery. Some are going to get lucky, but most will be left out. Since I could not find what their fees are from their site, I decided to not play that game.

But my biggest objection is that anyone who knows about auctions understands that the more bidders you have, the higher the price will go. This is great for the seller, but kinda sucks for the buyers, unless they have lots of extra cash. Take this current sale of FixedLoans,com selling for $5.459.

This is not a bad domain name, but according to Google, the daily searches for the exact phrase is not overly high, and they estimate the daily ad spend for [fixed loans] at $10-$13 per click to be $6-$10, or $180-$300 a month. But that is the estimated AD SPEND, NOT income. So lets say you got 50% of the click fees. Your monthy income would be $90-$150 or about 3 years at least to break even, and I am underestimating to be fair. So from my perspective for buying this domain for parking, the price was excessive. And while a flawed tool that generally vastly over-values domains, Estibot.com said it was worth $3,900!

FixedLoans,com has no backlinks or PageRank that I can see, so where is the justification for such a high price at auction?

Hey, I’m still a beginner at domaining, but this is how I see the situation. Bido: great for sellers, not so great for most buyers.
