LiveDeal.com Sells YP.com for $3.85 million
It was previously reported that LiveDeal.com sold YP.com to Yellowpages.com. SEC filings by LiveDeal.com reveal that the recent sale of the YP.com website brought a sale price of $3.85 million.
Our divestiture of our Internet property “www.yp.com” could adversely impact our revenues.
On November 5, 2008, we entered into an agreement to sell our Internet domain name “www.yp.com” to YellowPages.com for a cash payment of $3,850,000.
While this sale is not specifically for a domain name, Apparently this WAS a domain name only sale, so this definitely does provide for interesting discussion and speculation on the value of the YP.com domain name.

definitely an encouraging sale for most of the LL.com’s available out there in the market. Recently I requested a price for one of the all premium & popular LL.com whose asking price was around US $300k and now I think that was a real bargain if I had enough at that time to acquire it.
Or Yellow Pages had money to throw on YP, what ya’ll say?

I got yp.bz. But I’m not suggesting it’s for sale.

yellowpages.com calculated that they’d make up the cost of buying yp.com in the first four months of owning it. By routing the missed traffic that yp.com absorbed, YPC lowered their monthly SEM budget 5%, producing the same amount of traffic. 3.8 mil was an easy price for them to swallow.

I can’t believe YP.com to be worth that much! Yell.com yess, but YP.com? I dont think i’d ever type that into a search engine. Nice to see the domain market alive nad kicking though. Cheers, AJ.
