Name.com Launches Name Wiki
Domain name registrar Name.com announced in a press release today the launch of their name wiki at wiki.name.com. The company aims for the wiki to be the top name encyclopedia online. Company founder Bill Mushkin stated “I imagine having an article for every name on the planet. All names are dynamic and rich with meaning.”

A name wiki? What is to prevent everyone from editing their name entry? Or companies with identical names from rewriting their entry? How to handle names like Smith, Patel, or Lee? It’s an interesting idea but making it a wiki will lead to chaos, I think.
