SexToys.com.au sold for $25,500 on Netfleet.com.au last week, setting a new Australian domain name aftermarket record and signaling a new sense of optimism in the marketplace.

“If you’d asked me a couple of months ago I probably would have been a little disappointed [in the market],” said David Lye, the chief executive of Netfleet.com.au. “It did seem to be a little bit slow off the mark, but in hindsight this is a totally new industry.”

Other recent .AU sales include FreeStuff.com.au for $18,700, Reid.com.au for $14,300, and Mortgage.net.au for $13,500.
