Snapnames/Moniker partner with Domain Distribution Network

by Frank Michlick in Categories: Up to the Minute

Oversee.net‘s Moniker and Snapnames divisions have partnered with Dark Blue Sea’s (ASX:DBS, parent company of Fabulous.com) Domain Distribution Network (DDN). Customers that have their domains listed on for sale at Moniker or Snapnames can now also list their domains on the registrars that participate in the Domain Distribution Network. Domains listed with the DDN today will also be offered for sale through Moniker and Snapnames.

After GoDaddy canceled their participation in the DDN earlier this year, this new partnership may help increase domain sales for the network. Current partners include Register.com, Tucows/OpenSRS, Network Solutions and Melbourne IT.

Significantly Expanded Network of Premium Inventory Widens Choices for Businesses, Marketers and Domain Name Investors; Sellers Get Fully Automated Services, Exposure to Extended Network of End-User Buyers

LOS ANGELES AND BRISBANE — Oversee.net® said today it has partnered with Domain Distribution Network (DDN), a unit of Australia-based Dark Blue Sea (ASX: DBS), to significantly expand marketplace options for aftermarket domain name buyers and sellers.

Oversee’s SnapNames® and Moniker® units are the operational focal points of the agreement.  The two divisions are industry pioneers widely recognized as offering a broad range of domain name services, including daily online domain auctions, monthly online Showcase Auctions™, premium domain live auction events and buyer/seller brokerage, appraisal, and escrow services.

The company said the DDN agreement will bring the following benefits to customers:

For sellers

  • Names listed for sale at Moniker and SnapNames can opt in for listing on DDN’s network of partner registrars.
  • Once listed, the seller is not required to perform any manual tasks to complete the sale.
  • Sellers listing names through DDN will have their names automatically listed at Moniker’s registrar and on the SnapNames aftermarket platform with a “buy it now” price.

For buyers

  • DDN-listed names bring additional fresh inventory to SnapNames and Moniker listings.
  • The transaction is fully automated, with instant transfer of the domain name.

Both companies hailed the agreement as a step in attracting new customers from different sectors of the economy to the domain name space.  “Domain names are growing in value as an asset class,” said Oversee.net CEO and President Jeff Kupietzky.  “Corporations, brand marketers, individuals and investors now understand that having the right domain name is essential for value creation online.  Our arrangement with DDN will bring additional breadth to our marketplace.”

Dark Blue Sea CEO Greg Platz echoed Kupietzky’s optimism.  “We’re delighted to partner and list our inventory with SnapNames and Moniker,” he said.  “This is a valuable addition to our network of distribution partners, and we’re excited now to include them as a participating registrar partner by offering DDN’s listing service to SnapNames and Moniker customers.  We anticipate great success for the program and our partnership.”

The Domain Distribution Network enables registrars, resellers and portals to earn commission selling aftermarket domains from third party providers via an inline, instant sales process.  The Domain Distribution Network empowers domain owners to sell domains easily in the widest possible market.
